Reactions to Didion's, "Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream"

After I started reading Didion's, ""Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream," I was excited to see that her story takes place right next to my house. The crime scene to this story would have been about one block away from my house. I live just north of Banyan and just east of Carnelian. I didn't know that someone had written an essay about these streets. It makes it sound like where I live is kind of important. But now there are many houses next to the intersection of Banyan and Carnelian. Lucille Miller supposedly ran around for over an hour looking for a car to pull over to help her and she was searching for a house so she could call for help.
Anyway, I felt that this piece that Didion prepared for us to read has to do with selfishness and greed. People always want more than what they have. Since Lucille's life wasn't going great she tried to interfere with it and pull some crazy stunts including murdering her husband. She already had a family and everything. I don't see how she could kill her husband like that. How could she explain this to her children if she got caught like she did?
Most of what Didion said was true about the scenery of our city. I don't know if we are talking about San Bernardino County or the city. Because the county would include the area all the way out to the Nevada border. It is the largest county in California. Temperatures get up to 138 degrees. I think that is the record in Baker, CA. The is where the world's largest thermometer is. You would pass by it on the way to Las Vegas. Most of the scenery Didion was talking about comes from Rancho Cucamonga where there are many eucalyptus trees. We probably had fifty of them in our backyard. But now they are all cut down. I heard that we were not supposed to cut them down though. Up closer to the mountains, people have hundreds of them in their front yards. It is quite sight to see all of those trees and a house sitting behind them.

As a fellow dog person -- what a great pair of dogs you hang with!!!

And, I can't believe you live at the exact place Didion was writing about.
I feel a little like I'm having a brush with fame.

Seriously, I'm enjoying this blog.
